Hodge Podge Day - The Monkey Spirit Tree

It's Friday and it's been two weeks since my last post. I feel like I'm posting for Bloggers Anonymous.

1. I'm posting at the writer's dojo today. Feel free to stop by and say Hi...or anything else you'd like to say.

2. I've joined Shallee McAurthur's Healthy Writer's Club, and I'm proud to say I've worked out at the gym five days since Saturday and I'm feeling really wonderful. I'm also eating well, which is no easy task. While at the gym, I'm able to plug into my iPhone and listen to the tunes in which I relate to certain scenes in my stories. It's great to move and imagine the scenes as I'd like them to play out.

3. My son earned his yellow belt in karate this past week (see picture above). I'm not only a writing ninja, but I love martial arts, as well. I'm happy one of my children shares that passion.

4. Where is my unusual post? Are you missing it? Well....have you heard of the Monkey Spirit Tree?  Apparently, there are many spirit trees that have been worshipped throughout history. The Monkey Spirit Tree is located in Singapore (click on the link for cool pictures) and many people believe by visiting and praying to the "monkey god", their prayers will be answered. Scientists have explained the unusual growths that appear to be that of monkeys, but still the worshippers come. Spirit trees would make for interesting fantasy tales. Any thoughts on spirit trees?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Spirit trees suck the souls of all away, and they just don't know it as they pray haha sounds like you've been busy.

Oh that's wonderful Miranda!!! I just posted today about my son who is participating in a National Karate tournament this weekend in both Kata and Kumite. He tests for his blue belt in about three weeks. Congrats to your soon - Martial arts have been wonderful to my kiddo so far!

Monkey spirit trees? We have a mystery monkey hanging out in the trees in the Tampa Bay Area. No one seems to be able to catch him.

Congrats to your son.

Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly

Applause to you and your son for making headway in your physical activities. Him for his martial arts and you for your exercise.

The idea of a spirit tree reminds me of the movie Avatar. I'll go check this out at the monkey spirit tree link.

Miranda, that's a lot of working out - good for you! And I always find that physical activity sort of frees the mind so you can think of all kinds of awesome stuff.

Congrats to your son:)

There's a great interesting book called, Celebitrees, that's about famous trees around the world. Your post reminded me about it.

And how did the monkeys make the growths happen? That's weird.

Sorry I've been absent. Work has got me on the road every single darn day.
